Himalayan Trading Post is a small boutique business located in the fair town of Conyers, GA , some 25 miles from the hub of downtown Atlanta. We specialize in handmade candles that are different, decorative and reusable.  A candle can be more than a source of light or have a nice scent. It doesn't have to be bought hidden beneath layers of expensive, wasteful packaging. A candle be a decorative piece in itself. It can also add to a home's sense of comfort, peace and well being.

Himalayan Trading Post supplies high end candles to retail stores, boutiques and catalogs around the country. We also sell directly to the public through this retail website.

Our candles are all hand poured and packaged at our studio in Georgia. This allows us to maintain high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. Our wooden and glass containers are sourced from small manufacturers in northern India. We work with manufacturers directly ensuring transparent working conditions and better supplier relationships.  

The company was born  in 2004 by owner, Julia Leaphart.   Growing up in a small hill town in the Himalayas, it started as way to maintain a connection to a childhood spent in a very small but lovely corner of the world.  The idea was to create eyecatching and unique candles for the home that would add a sense of warmth and character and provide a natural focal point.   Julia  began by selling candles at local craft fairs and festivals.   The product was successful and the business grew to incorporate employees, a warehouse with a customized candle studio and a network of over a 1000 retailers and catalogs through out the USA and Canada.
